“July 2023 will go down as the hottest month on record for our planet. Drastic reductions of fossil fuel combustion is the critical adaptation that will limit the damage. The new EPA rules are great, but we must go further. We cannot rely on hydrogen, which will perpetuate extraction of methane, or carbon capture, which will burn more fossil fuel and require storage indefinitely. We must go all the way with solar, wind, geothermal, and battery storage.”
