“Maine is often referred to as the tailpipe of America. We need the strongest regulations the EPA can provide to better health outcomes of all Mainers, many of whom suffer from asthma and other chronic diseases due to pollution coming from out-of-state power plants. The proposed rule would require almost all existing and future coal and gas-fired power plants to cut or capture nearly 100 percent of their CO2 emissions by 2040. Its time has come."

Maine State Senator Joseph Baldacci, District 9, Penobscot County & Chair, Maine Senate Health & Human Services Committee, Maine
