Washington, DC – Tonight, President Biden delivered his second State of the Union Address. In response, Climate Action Campaign Director Margie Alt released the following statement:

“We are thankful for the historic climate and clean energy investments President Biden achieved – and we are excited about the president’s work to rebuild America to weather the next storms, droughts, and floods. But the work to protect Americans from the worst impacts of the climate crisis is far from over. We need strong solutions for pollution to get us the 50% reduction in climate pollution by 2030 that the president promised and scientists say we need. President Biden knows we have an obligation to future generations to confront the climate crisis. We will continue to do all we can to support strong federal action on climate and to make sure President Biden can deliver on the commitment he made to the American people and the world. The cost of inaction is only escalating every year. Our climate can’t wait. We must and we will ‘finish the job.’”
