This Department of Energy (DOE) finalization of the rule comprises the first update to standards for refrigerators and freezers in more than a decade.

“There’s nothing cooler than tackling the climate crisis. The new refrigerator and freezer energy efficiency standard will slash climate pollution while saving consumers billions in cold, hard cash on their energy and water bills. I want to thank President Biden and Secretary Granholm for making this important update to protect our climate and our wallets.
