CAC’s Margie Alt on Introduction of Energy Bills Relief Act That Will Deliver Clean, Affordable Energy

Clean energy delivers solutions to the climate crisis, cleaner air, and cost savings.

WASHINGTON-Today, Reps. Sean Casten and Mike Levin, and more than 100 of their House of Representatives colleagues introduced the Energy Bills Relief Act, legislation that would deliver sustainable and cost-effective solutions to boost clean energy that meets rising demand, invests in solutions to lower energy costs, and combats the climate crisis. Margie Alt, Director of the Climate Action Campaign, released the following statement in response:

“American families are being crushed by soaring electricity costs. Yet, the cheapest, most reliable, clean and home grown energy is being blocked by outdated, partisan policies and a grid that hasn’t kept pace. The result? Energy bills are on the rise, and so is dangerous climate pollution and more unhealthy air.

"Clean energy delivers solutions that simultaneously combat the climate crisis while meeting soaring energy demand. The Energy Bills Relief Act puts consumers not polluters first. It would expand wind and solar, restore critical clean energy tax credits, speed clean energy connections, and protect communities and our families’ health too.

"Thank you to the co-sponsors of the Energy Bills Relief Act, who are helping to make sure that clean energy delivers climate solutions, a safer and healthier environment, and cost relief for American families."
