“We support the strongest standard on carbon emissions from power plants, alternatively called the Cut Climate Pollution Plan, from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), because we are in a climate emergency. Florida is experiencing carbon pollution induced extreme heat and we worried about the impacts on the health of our communities. As I write this, Florida could be breaking today a global ocean water temperature at 101F and we are extremely concerned that the proposal does not go far enough. We are writing to you today to ask that you please consider strengthening the final standards. The heatwaves, floods, and rising seas & temperatures deserve nothing less than a response that is bold to meet this emergency!”
