“I support the strongest standard on carbon emissions from power plants, alternatively called the Cut Climate Pollution Plan, from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), because we need to take immediate bold action to reduce the significant negative impacts of the climate crisis we are already experiencing. Stronger standards will improve the health and wellbeing of those living near power plants and throughout the country by significantly lowering harmful particulate matter (PM2.5) in the air. Reductions in GHG emissions will also mitigate the continuation and intensification of severe weather that is taking lives, devastating entire communities, and costing billions.”
