“I support the strongest standard on carbon emissions from power plants, alternatively called the Cut Climate Pollution Plan, from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), because as a climate advocate and someone working in environmental health and environmental justice, I see how critical it is in my community that carbon pollution is cut rapidly. It is indisputable: climate change is primarily driven by carbon pollution from the fossil-fuel industry. Climate change leads to poor air quality and increasingly negative health outcomes, including respiratory disease, heart disease, and insect-borne infectious diseases.”
