"The same dangerous pollution that causes climate change is having serious impacts on asthma and allergy sufferers across Michigan. According to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, our state’s asthma rate is higher than the national average, and three to four times higher in Michigan’s most polluted zip codes. According to the recent Asthma Capitals report from the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America, the Detroit area is designated as the number one worse place to live if you have asthma. There is no more time to waste or spend debating; we need strong regulations and policies that will address reduce dangerous pollution levels which will ultimately save lives and address the climate crisis."
