“These plants produce roughly a quarter of greenhouse gases and are therefore an important source to regulate. This summer’s extreme weather events are clearly linked to climate change and will hopefully motivate our citizens to demand more effective action. It has now become clear that climate change is not a problem for our children and grandchildren. The damage is being done today, and it is more extreme than we could have guessed.”
