“I support the strongest standard on carbon emissions from power plants, alternatively called the Cut Climate Pollution Plan, from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), because climate change leads to poor air quality and increasingly negative health outcomes, including respiratory disease, heart disease, and insect-borne infectious diseases. We have already seen millions of people across the U.S. affected by air quality from wildfires caused by climate change alongside the hottest July ever recorded, and our current standards for power plants only exacerbate these problems. This standard will ensure we have a planet in the future, protect our most at-risk and disadvantaged communities, and ensure that we all can live our fullest lives. I urge you to approve this stronger standard, so we can curb climate change once and for all.”
