"EPCAMR would like to see carbon pollution reduced by planting more trees and riparian stream corridors on reclaimed abandoned mine lands across the country. We’d also like to advocate for more development of community-scale and grid-scale solar projects in our coalfield communities to reduce our need for increased fossil fuel extraction. Reclamation of abandoned mine lands can also keep headwater streams that are often pristine from entering the underground mine workings leading to downstream abandoned mine water pollution problems and the increased potential for flooding."
