When he laid out his climate action plan last month, President Obama made it clear that addressing the threat of climate change is not just a job for politicians. He challenged each individual to step up and take ownership of the issue in their community. This past week, volunteers with Organizing for Action answered that call to action, hosting over 100 house parties to highlight the president's plan and start the conversation on climate in their area.
During the parties, supporters developed plans to recruit others to help make an impact at the local level and urge their elected officials to act on climate. Many focused specifically on building capacity for the upcoming slate of Action August events, designed to hold their local representatives accountable for their climate views.
You can be a part of that effort in your own community. Answer the president's call to action and say "I Will" by pledging to attend an Action August event in your area.
