July 30th marks a national day of action on climate change supported by hundreds of groups, leaders and individuals across the country. Leading advocacy organizations today issued the following statement calling for action on climate change:

“Today, we make the call for climate action. Climate change is an undeniable problem and is one of the greatest challenges we face today. It threatens our environment, our public health, the safety of our communities, and the air we breathe. The Environmental Protection Agency will soon finalize one powerful tool to address climate change -- the Clean Power Plan. A strong Clean Power Plan will slash dangerous climate pollution significantly by setting the first-ever national limits on carbon pollution from existing power plants. America needs a strong plan to curb the effects of climate change, protect public health and encourage the development of clean energy. Join us in supporting the Clean Power Plan.”
