WASHINGTON, DC – William K. Reilly, former EPA Administrator (1989-1993) and William D. Ruckelshaus, former EPA administrator (1970-1973) (1983-1985) issued the following joint statement regarding the EPA’s Clean Power Plan, which was published in the Federal Register on October 23, 2015:

“The publication of the Administration's principal instrument for addressing climate change, the Clean Power Plan, was published today. Already, we understand that 24 states are lined up to ask that its implementation be stayed or suspended. The country needs to reduce CO2 from existing power plants which generate 40% of America's CO2. The rule is needed, and the courts we hope will recognize that it is on the right side of history.”
