Final haze rule adopts more of state's plan

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released its final regional haze rule Friday, a move that incorporated more portions of a state-implemented plan. The EPA indicated in a summary of the 714-page rule that it had backed off on portions of the original plan that would have barred a state-implemented plan, but kept others that would still require a federally implemented plan to correct "deficiencies."
